Job Title: Test Technology Specialist

City:Albion State: ILLINOIS                                                  


Job Purpose: Evaluate test procedures and conducts testing on filters and components to ensure individual customer and company established requirements are fulfilled. This involves not only established procedures but also developing new procedures and design/modification of test equipment to satisfy the constantly changing customer expectations. May have direct contact with customers.

  1. Performs technical aspects of product testing.
  2. Interprets customer and industry specifications and testing requirements to develop equivalent test procedures and apparatus, with selection, design, manufacture, calibration, validation and or recommendation of equipment/processes required.
  3. Recognizes issues, troubleshoots and performs maintenance and repairs of equipment and works directly with equipment manufacturers and field service personnel to complete the diagnosis and repair, and recalibrate equipment, as necessary.
  4. Analyzes non-typical test results for cause.
  5. Collects data and maintains in appropriate formats for presentation, retrieval, computer graphics generation, and creation of visual aids for sales, marketing and engineering.
  6. Performs Product Verification Testing for company and customer specific compliance.
  7. Implements internal changes to meet updated test standards.
  8. May maintain and implement changes to IMDS documentation in order to comply with customer requirements.
  9. Performs other duties, as needed.

Job Requirements


Associates Degree in mechanical or electrical discipline or equivalent in education and experience


1 to 2 years experience working in laboratory/testing position and/or mechanical/hydraulics industrial.


Good communication skills to relate to internal and external personnel. Serves as laboratory tour guide


Good computer skills for test report generation and test stand operation and troubleshooting

Strong attention to detail

Interpersonal Relations:

Build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of people

Analytical and Conceptual:

Possess analytical and diagnostics skills

Special Skills:

Practical machine knowledge in repair, design & manufacture of hydraulic equipment

Basic Electrical knowledge

Background in mechanical and hydraulic systems

Basic knowledge of metal machining

Capable of revising computer programs used in the test lab

Practical knowledge of gauge calibration procedures and techniques


Must be able to maintain satisfactory record of attendance and conduct. Must be able to work any shift and overtime as required.
